Pre-Student Teaching Action Plan
Name: David McArdle

The main concerns identified by my predecessors included:

  • Classroom Management
  • Learning names
  • Planning ahead/ Not getting behind
  • Always staying positive
  • Not letting stress get to you

My main concerns about student teaching at this point are:

  • Classroom Management
  • Establishing myself as the classroom leader
  • Running between my math and physics classrooms (The two classes are in different buildings)
  • Finding a common ground between my ideas and my philosophy and the philosophy of my CTs
  • Planning for instruction (not having enough planned)

My Main Concerns about Student Teaching
Some strategies that I am going to try in order to prepare for Student Teaching:
Establishing myself as a classroom leader
Spend more time in the classroom during break and always act professional
Running between Math and Physics
Plan my schedule so that I have a free period between Math and Physics
Finding a common ground with CTs
Talk to CTs during break about their grading schemes and classroom policies so that I can remain consistent
Planning for Instruction
Go over my unit and lessons with my CT

I am still concerned about... (and I'm not really sure what to do about this.)

I am still concerned about planning my schedule so that I don't have to run across the football field from my math class to my physics class. I want to work it out so that I can have a free period between my math class and any of my physics sections.
